I was really impressed with Bristol Airport car hire when I last used it. I have had bad experiences, mostly when abroad of it taking ages to sort out all of the documentation and the right cars not being available or me having to hang around to wait for them to be made ready for me. When I was at Bristol it was so simple, just a case of providing passport and driving licence, filling out a form and discussing the size of car that I wanted. It was simple and there was no queue, which I guess may have been a coincidence, but that really helped.

I think making a process like this very simple can really help to provide a positive feeling, not only about the company but about the whole business of hiring a car or even the whole airport. I was very negative about it but now, at least, I feel positive about the company I used and the facilities provided by Bristol. I think I may still be worried about hiring a car abroad, but I am sure I will still do it as I find driving the most convenient way to get about, especially when you do not speak the language and therefore cannot understand the ticket machines or drivers on trains and buses. I find that road signs are much easier to understand and I have a satellite navigation system so do not even have to stop in order to ask for directions, which is lucky really!

Bristol Airport Car Parking

If it is a good airport then the likelihood is that it will have a good car parking system surrounding it. If you are driving to the airport, even if you aren’t flying anywhere and are just meeting or greeting someone, you have to park the car. Bristol Airport is no different. Whether you are just going to use the short stay car park to say goodbye to a loved one or park in the long stay car park if you’re jetting off yourself, you must use one of the car parks. The thing is, a lot of people worry about the safety of their car – there are many stories of people preying on the cars left in the long stay car park because they are very easy targets. But there is no chance of that happening at Bristol Airport. With a CCTV system surrounding the car park you can feel secure about leaving your vehicle in Blighty.

There is a sort of stigma surrounding airport parking because it has a reputation for being overly expensive. Yet, this is not the case at Bristol; in fact, the reverse is true! The average cost for the parking if you stay for a day is a little over £20; working out at just under £2 per hour. How could anyone decide against taking advantage of that? They even have a number of promotional offers running throughout the year – one example is 8 days for £29; at around £3.60 per day is it really worth the hassle of getting lifts to and from the airport?
